The Subject series, which comprises about 20% of the collection, is described to the box level and is more general in scope, covering events both domestic and global. In order to provide transparency, the newly released data showcases all the businesses that received more than $150,000 in PPP loans. While the PPP Loans were distributed with the goal of helping small businesses during the COVID-19 crisis, many larger companies with significant resources have made headlines for participating in the program and making it more difficult for smaller businesses to obtain funds. The disclosure released information on the businesses that received the loans, the loan amount, and the number of jobs supported. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Treasury Department released data on their Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loans.
